RECORDING TECHNIQUES
Did you ever wonder, how you could record all the compositions, you spend so much time practicing at home, without breaking the bank? It is definitely possible and Hugo Fernando González, a teacher at the University of music in Graz, will show us how! Learn the basics of home recording with him at this Guitar Styria Saturday and take masterclasses with Hugo or with Cristina Galietto, a young up and comer of the European guitar scene. In the afternoon concert, we will be able to hear her musicality.
Timetable and application at the bottom.
Cristina Galietto
Cristina Galietto is a classical guitarist from Naples, Italy. She is appreciated for her strong stage presence, stylistic flexibility and mellow tone, for combining technical virtuosity with a natural musicality that connects across different audiences and cultures.
Her debut album Avant l’Aube (Timespan Recordings, 2020) features works by Joaquín Rodrigo, Domenico Scarlatti, and Alexis Rago, highlighting her sensitivity to both historical and modern repertoire.
Cristina has performed solo, with chamber groups, and as a soloist with orchestra across Europe, the UK, the USA, and China. She has appeared at festivals and venues such as Kings Place (London), Theatre Traversière (Paris), Kammermusikfest Lockenhaus, the Tenri Cultural Institute (New York), and toured extensively in China. In Italy, she has played, among others, at Paganini Guitar Festival, Segovia Guitar Week, and Festival del ‘700 Napoletano at Maschio Angioino’s Sala dei Baroni.
She began her studies at the age of seven with her father, Alberto, and soon after won numerous international competitions. Highlights of her career include EuroStrings 2021 (Petrer), Uppsala Guitar Competition, and the Andrés Segovia Competition (Monheim am Rhein). In 2021 she received the Golden Guitar award at the International Guitar Meeting in Milan.
Cristina holds three master’s degrees in classical guitar, the most recent from the Kunst Universität Graz, where she studied Concert Performance under Paolo Pegoraro and Łukasz Kuropaczewski. She plays a guitar by Alessandro Marseglia and maintains a steady international concert schedule.
Cristina combines early career awards with wide touring experience, a refined sense for curating stylistically diverse programmes, and a capacity to engage meaningfully with both audiences and fellow performers.
