About us
In order to promote the classical guitar within the musical culture in Styria and surrounding, the nonprofit organization under the name ˝Guitar Styria Musikverein˝ has been established in 2024. Beside the formal education, young generations needs to get the opportunity to grow their musical identity, learn from each other, be inspired by renowned artists from Austria and abroad, gather new experiences and be taught by great masters of this beautiful instrument. If you are a guitar enthusiast yourself or about to become one, this is the place to be.
Following this vision, Guitar Styria Musikverein is organizing:
International Competition
The International competition Guitar Styria is so much more than just a competition. Not only that you get the opportunity to express yourself on the stage, get a valuable feedback from the experts and win great prizes. During the competition you can meet guitar colleagues of all ages, try out new guitars from the exhibitioners and listen to great concerts. We sincerely want to enable this unique opportunity to the most diverse participants, therefore there are various categories organised: classical guitar, composition for classical guitar, E-guitar and singer-songwriter.
Guitar Styria Club
We are well aware that the learning process might be often challenging. With this in mind, we decided to organise a series of events during the school year to help you get through it. Well renowned guitarists are invited to give: workshops, lectures, concerts and masterclasses. It is meant for classical guitarists, from beginners to very advanced players.
Guitar Magazine
Offering you the opportunity to get on stage and learn from the best guitarists is not enough for us. We want to be there for you also when we are not. While waiting for the next event, you might want to read about the guitar. You can expect a very diverse content such as: articles about guitar, composers, various events in the area and much more.
